Mexican Independence reminds us where we come from. High-quality education helps determine how far we can go. As artificial intelligence changes work at extraordinary speed, celebrating Mexico can also mean investing in our ability to learn, communicate, sell and lead better.

Fiestas Patrias are once again creating a massive social conversation. A Buzzmonitor analysis cited on September 12 reviewed 11,567 posts across Facebook, X, Instagram, Reddit, Threads and forums and found national identity at the center of the discussion. Identity can be more than a symbol: it can become a culture of preparation, innovation and competitiveness.

Mexico’s challenge is no longer only access to technology. It is learning to use it well.

In July 2026, El Economista reported that only 31% of companies in Mexico had a formal artificial-intelligence training program. In other words, roughly seven in ten organizations still lacked a formal plan to prepare their people for AI. The same analysis found workforce readiness and culture to be among the weakest enablers, while only 16% of companies had redesigned processes or roles around AI.

Communication and continuous learning are becoming employability skills.

A July 15 report from El Economista describes a shift already visible in the labor market: employers are prioritizing human and digital skills. Adaptability, digital capabilities and effective communication are among the factors shaping youth employment. Citing ManpowerGroup, the article also notes that about seven in ten companies in Mexico struggle to fill roles because they cannot find the skills their business needs.

For years, education was often confused with collecting credentials. Degrees still matter, but they are no longer enough on their own. Competitive professionals need continuous learning, demonstrable skills and the ability to update themselves as tools, customers and ways of working change.

Leadership is no longer simply knowing more than the team.

Expansión reported in July that emotional intelligence, active listening, transparent communication and empathy have moved from “nice-to-have” qualities to essential leadership capabilities. The article also cites research showing that 79% of Gen Z and Millennials use AI to identify learning and upskilling opportunities. Modern leadership increasingly combines human skills with technology.

Communication is also a business asset. El Economista examined the relationship between leadership communication and reputational risk: when leaders cannot explain clearly, listen, give feedback or handle difficult conversations, the cost can extend from an uncomfortable meeting to trust, culture and reputation.

Selling better requires training, not only instinct.

A recent report covered by Forbes Mexico found customer service in 96% of the career pathways analyzed, sales techniques in 91% and digital skills in 73%. It also linked coordination and leadership capabilities with stronger earnings. Listening to needs, communicating value and following through are not simply natural talents; they can be trained.

There are concrete business examples. Expansión documented the retailer Atléticos after a sales decline. The company did not stop at product, inventory or marketing; it brought training, performance and leadership into the diagnosis and began professionalizing store managers. The lesson is straightforward: developing people is also a commercial strategy.

Continuous education should not be a privilege.

Access remains a major challenge. Reviewing an ILO report on lifelong learning, El Economista highlighted that only 16% of workers participate in skills programs and that access is still shaped by informality and inequality. A more competitive economy requires professional development that is flexible, practical and financially reachable for many more people.

That is why Esteborg focuses on practical, accessible training.

Esteborg was designed so professionals, entrepreneurs and teams can practice four capabilities converging in modern work: Leadership, Communication, Sales and Artificial Intelligence. The goal is not to watch hours of video and collect certificates. It is to bring a real situation, work through it with a specialized agent, receive feedback and return to professional life with a better way to act.

AI enables something that used to be expensive and difficult to scale: frequent guidance, personalized practice and access from anywhere. Esteborg’s aim is to use that technology to make high-quality training available at accessible costs instead of reserving it for a small group of people or large corporations.

This Independence season, let’s also celebrate Mexican talent.

Mexico has creativity, ingenuity, resilience, commercial ability and a powerful work culture. The next step is turning those strengths into updated skills for a world changing very quickly: use AI without losing human judgment, sell without stopping listening, lead without losing empathy and communicate clearly even when the conversation is difficult.

To everyone who works, builds a business, studies, sells, leads a team or puts heart into what they do every day: may these Fiestas Patrias remind us of what we can build when pride becomes preparation. From Esteborg, receive a warm embrace and our heartfelt congratulations. ¡Viva México, viva its people, and viva the opportunity to keep learning! 🇲🇽
