In consultative selling, the pitch should not open the conversation. It should be the logical consequence of a strong diagnosis. Understand what the buyer wants to change, the cost of doing nothing and how the decision will be made.

A useful sequence starts with context, moves into impact questions and ends with decision criteria. Only then should you present a solution tied to what the buyer has already identified as important.

This reduces objections because the proposal no longer feels generic. The goal is not simply to talk less, but to make every part of your message directly relevant to a problem the buyer wants to solve.
